ABOUT US

Boroka Nagy expanded her passion for Pilates to Orange County in 2022. Pilates on Main OC is an unassuming studio that strives to be a safe place to achieve a healthy and happy body. Located inside The Academy of Dance, the studio functions as a Pilates resource and community. We honor the journey of the body, and whether you are a young dancer or a bit further along in your life path, we provide top-of-the-line instruction true to the Pilates Method, personalized specifically for your body's needs.

Our mission is to create a space for a healthy community to exist, to serve as a resource for Pilates information and education, connect the Southern California community with Pilates professionals. We also rent our Pilates equipment and studio to certified instructors; email us to inquire about studio rental rates!

At Pilates On Main, we want to foster a space where our community can become healthier, stronger, and more balanced in their day-to-day lives. We can't wait to meet you and help you set your body up for success!

INSTRUCTORS

Boroka Nagy, owner

Boroka is a certified Pilates Instructor under the mentorship of Karen Clippinger, through Body Arts and Science International (BASI, 2015), and holds an M.F.A. in dance from the University of California, Irvine. She is passionate about guiding her clients to find body awareness and to make real-life connections to movement through Pilates. Boroka believes Pilates is a functional way to find balance in the body and mind and unlock the body's movement potential.

Boroka is also the founder of dance company and nonprofit Reborn Arts (www.rebornarts.org) and director of The Academy of Dance in Orange County (www.academyofdance.org).

Katie Walsh

Katie Walsh is a professional dancer and Pilates instructor based in Orange County, CA. Katie was first introduced to Pilates by Diane Diefenderfer while pursuing her BFA in Dance Performance and BA in Education at the University of California, Irvine. Katie initially studied Pilates as a means of cross-training and rehabilitation after various injuries, but she quickly developed a deep appreciation for the total body awareness and mind-body connection within the Pilates practice. She went on to complete Diane Diefenderfer’s 450-hour Comprehensive Teacher Training Program and received her certification through Studio du Corps in 2023. Katie believes people of all ages and backgrounds can experience an improved quality of life through Pilates, and she encourages each of her clients to discover and experience the holistic benefits of the practice for themselves.

Cara Laughlin

Cara Laughlin is a dancer and Pilates instructor from Huntington Beach, California. Cara grew up dancing from a young age, and has studied many forms of dance including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Contemporary. She received her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine. While at UCI, she began her Pilates journey and found a deep appreciation for building strength and preventing injuries while dancing. After graduating in 2021, Cara completed her 450-hour Pilates teacher training certification with Studio du Corps under Diane Diefenderfer and Laura Hanlon. She moved to New York City to dance and teach Pilates, and is now back in Orange County! Cara hopes to help her clients feel stronger, create balance in the body, and promote a positive environment for growth.

Amy Valdez

Amy is a yoga and Pilates teacher with 18+ years of experience. She was introduced to Pilates by a former ballet dancer. She received her Pilates/Dance Conditioning Certificate from Orange Coast College and a master’s in Kinesiology from California State University Fullerton. Amy enjoys helping others move and feel better in their bodies. She advocates for mindful movement to promote emotional, mental as well as physical health.
